  • The Asanos opened their Encinitas clinic in 1979. Since that time they have continuously developed and refined their modalities and techniques. The Asano philosophy transcends the boundaries of western and eastern medicine, creating a synthesis of these two medicinal approaches and methodologies. This multifaceted approach to biodynamic and bioenergetic wellness has helped thousands of clients throughout San Diego's North County. 

  • The Asanos combine Japanese acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, western physiology, and their own methodology to provide a modern, integrative and evidence-based approach to patient care. It is this unique combination of treatment modalities that sets Asano Acupuncture apart from others.

  • Treatments are offered for all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Phone and Zoom consultations are available upon request. For more information on some of the more common symptomatology treated are itemized below.

Greg Lane, DACM, L. Ac., Dipl. Ac.

-Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine-

Education

  • Dr. Lane earned his Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree (DACM)and a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Prior to his acupuncture career he was an internationally touring professional dancer and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts).

 

Personal

  • Dr. Lane is an Encinitas resident and father of four children. He is an avid surfer and Gracie Barra Jiujitsu practitioner.

  • Dr. Greg Lane is a California Acupuncture Board (CAB) Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist and a Nationally Certified Acupuncturist through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). As an educator and researcher, Dr. Lane serves as Program Director for The California Institute for Human Science Integral Health Programs. Dr. Lane is also Clinical Director of Hydrate Wellness in Encinitas. He was former Dean of Graduate Education for Pacific College of Health and Science (PCHS), San Diego and former Director of Clinical Services for Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM), San Diego. He was a clinical supervisor, and faculty member in the Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) and Health and Human Performance Coaching (HHP) programs at Pacific College.

  • Dr. Lane has been in private Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice for over 30 years and has mentored hundreds of professional acupuncturists at all stages of their careers. In his private practice he specializes in treating patients with chronic pain and women’s health. Dr. Lane promotes a balanced and active lifestyle, incorporating diet, mindfulness, Tai Chi and Qi Gong principles to achieve health goals for his patients. Featured in many Continuing education seminars through the Pacific Center for Lifelong Learning and TCMzone educational series.

Dr. Elizabeth Swallow L. Ac.
-Integrative Acupuncturist-

  • Dr. Elizabeth Swallow  believes in treating the whole person with compassion, curiosity and skill. Elizabeth has received extensive training in western and eastern body modalities; craniosacral training; and a variety of emotional liberation techniques. Dr. Elizabeth draws from a unique tool box to work with when creating treatment plans. 

  • Elizabeth holds a Doctorate in Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture/Herbs and a masters of science in Traditional Chinese medicine. Her somatic education includes both western and eastern modalities with a focus on the energetic blueprint, anatomical structural system and effective communication skills with the intention to harmonize the body/mind/spirit. She is a UCSD alumni holding two degrees in Art History and cultural anthropology with an emphasis on visceral movement practice/performance and ritual. 

  • Dr. Elizabeth combines Chinese Medicine and somatic modalities as a way to understand the mechanics of the body to move out of pain and into harmony.
